Quality of Life
Welcome to the West Bank
If you want all the amenities of New Orleans coupled with the advantages of a suburban lifestyle, Jefferson Parish has what you’re looking for. It has become the most populated parish in the state, and the West Bank is currently undergoing phenomenal growth.
One of the few areas that was virtually unscathed by Hurricane Katrina, the West Bank was a major provider of resources during the recovery. New housing developments are now booming, supported by an existing network of fine public and private schools, outstanding health facilities and amenities ranging from the new Tournament Players Club Golf Course to some of Louisiana’s most beautiful state parks.
Schools
Jefferson Parish is home to a mixture of public, private and independent schools offering quality elementary and secondary education. 85 public schools were operating in 2006-2007, along with 59 non-public schools at the end of 2006.
Churchill Technology & Business Park is proud to be the future home of the Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, a secondary school dedicated to preparing students to meet 21st century challenges with an enriched education in mathematics, science and technology.
